President's Drive down Highway 1

Our President’s drive on October 15 and 16^th gives our club a once in a rare opportunity to take our JAGS down HIGHWAY 1.  Driving down California’s Highway 1 through Big Sur is a legendary 90-mile journey where the Santa Lucia Mountains drop straight into the roaring Pacific Ocean. You navigate tight, cliffside curves, soar over high concrete arches like Bixby Bridge, and glide past foggy redwood canyons and hidden turquoise coves. The intense summer marine layer typically backs off by October, giving way to "Indian Summer" conditions with sun-drenched days and predictable afternoon visibility.  We’ll start our trip in Carmel at the Crossroads Carmel Shopping Center in front of the Starbucks, at 243 Crossroads Blvd. The group will head to Highway 1 from there making stops along the way, including lunch (restaurant to be named).  We’ll end up in Cambria at the Bluebird Inn.  Dinner will be at one…
